I was reading Wyatt’s blog the other day and got a chuckle out of this post. I read it and didn’t give it another thought until……..
I brought the family out to the annual Santa Parade today. It was a suprise and when EnforcerYoungest saw the people lining the street, the hawkers, vendors, and bands she exclaimed “I know what it is, it’s the WINTER PARADE!!!!”
I looked at Enforcerwife and said “We’ve got a politically correct daughter, where did she come from?”
To which EnforcerYoungest corrected herself and said “I’m sorry daddy I meant the Holiday Parade”
Whatever happened to a good old fashioned Santa Parade!!!!!!!!!!
Mmmm, you’re still too politically correct for me. Here we call it the Christmas parade;)
I hate that we even have to question what we have called things for years. I say Christmas, and Santa. I do this NOT to offend people, but because that is what I BELIEVE.
Hope you had a good weekend.
Goddess- I’ll go with your pronouncement, henceforth I will call it the Christmas Parade
Leigh- I so hate the fact that a small number of people with a hippie 1960s mentality are seeming to dictate the way society is supposed to act. Whats worse is that people in my generation and the younger generations are eating it up
I completely understand. For the school concert they can’t sing any songs with the word Christmas in them! I wonder what they have in store for us? 10 different versions of Jingle Bells?
Lori- Society has become so non inclusive by its desire to be all inclusive
